A plug for one of my committees…

Going to ALA Midwinter? Join us for the ACRL New Member Discussion Group on…

Saturday, January 24, 2009
10:30 am – noon
Colorado Convention Center – Room 112

Why do some academic institutions grant their librarians tenure or continuing appointments? We’ll discuss the intricacies of tenure and why you may or may not want to pursue the tenure track. The ACRL New Member Discussion group is for new (and aspiring) academic librarians. We meet twice a year–at both ALA conferences–to chat about whatever is on our minds. It’s an opportunity for networking and a friendly place to ask any questions you have about succeeding in ACRL.

Hm. Merinda asked me if I was interested in taking over as the discussion group convener after Midwinter… I suppose I should answer her about that.

Do you know yet whether you’ll be attending Annual in Chicago?
